FAQs

Who can participate in the Performance Showcase?
This unique opportunity is open to all dancers!
What level is this performance opportunity?
Rehearsals for Series 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 will be taught primarily at an intermediate pace and Series 6 will be beginner level. All levels are welcome however! Dancers will be expected to rehearse/review choreography outside of the designated studio hours.
Are any skills required to participate?
No specific skill is required to participate, this opportunity is open to all dancers with a passion to perform! Following registration, dancers will be asked to fill out a questionnaire sharing what technical/acrobatic skills they have. These responses will be shared with the choreographers & then taken into consideration for the piece! Dancers specifc skills may be featured in pieces pending on what they share in the questionnaire.
How do I sign up?
Sign ups will be via Google Form, which will be found in the above Registration section. Each series will have its own, individual Google Form. Once a form hits 16 dancers + waitlist, it will close. There are no auditions for this performance opportunity.
What if the Series I’m interested in participating in fills up?
In each Google Form, there will be a section asking which other series you would be interested in performing in if you were to make the waitlist on your top choice. After registration is closed & the forms are reviewed, we will email each dancer to notify them if they made a series or if they remain on the waitlist. Dancers should only fill out on registration form for the series they are most interested in participating in.
Can I sign up for more than one series?
Due to expected demand, dancers may only sign up to participate in one of our Series.
How does the 9 week rehearsal structure work?
Dancers will spend 3 rehearsals learning their first group piece, 3 rehearsals learning their second group piece and 1 rehearsal learning the opening. During the week of the show, dancers will attend their Series dress rehearsal at their rehearsal location and a technical rehearsal at the Kenmore Auditorium.
How can I be part of a small group or solo?
Following registration, an interest form will be sent to all dancers participating in the Showcase where they may submit a request to perform in an additional small group, duo or solo in any style they choose! This is entirely optional and will have a small additional fee.
Dancers participating in small groups or solos will need to coordinate their own rehearsal times & locations.
If I’m not enrolled in Showcase, can I still participate in a small group or solo?
Unfortunately, no. Only dancers registered to one of our 6 Series are eligible to perform in an additional small group, duo or solo number.
What if I miss a rehearsal?
We understand that you may miss a rehearsal! Videos of the instructor doing the routine with counts and music will be shared following each rehearsal. You will be expected to learn missed choreography on your own time by the following week.
How will costumes work?
Once they have been chosen by the choreographers, dancers will be notified of what each number's outfits/costume themes will be! Dancers are responsible for fulfilling the costume needs.
