Testimonials
Elyse B., Series 5
This was my third year in Showcase and it truly showed me why it is always my favorite part of the entire year. I felt so happy and joyful throughout the entire experience because of the kindness shown by everyone at AVA Dance Co. AVA consistently provides a positive learning environment where everyone cheers on one another, regardless of how long they have been dancing. I am so appreciative of the friends I have made through AVA and the connections that fuel me to keep returning to classes with amazing and encouraging choreographers. I was so excited this year to challenge myself by trying a new style in the Showcase and I truly had the best time each week as I diligently practiced. I am so thankful for the AVA community and the performance showcase! I am finding myself days later still practicing the choreography around my apt.
Special shoutout to Cierra and Jackie for choreographing such creative pieces this year and for cheering us on so loudly! Series 5, we did it!
Kayla W., Series 3
Thank you, AVA, for giving me four years of friendships, memories, and the opportunity to continue doing something for ME. Each year, getting to learn from talented choreographers alongside fellow dancers teaches me something new about dance and about myself. Getting involved is one of the best decisions I've made as an adult!
Raychel R., Series 1
I'm eternally grateful to AVA for giving adult dancers like me the opportunity to continue performing. It's been almost 10 years since I took the stage at a recital and there is no other community in the DMV that offers this type of welcoming, fun, challenging, and professional experience for all levels. I'm especially grateful for the opportunity to continue choreographing! I was not sure if I'd ever get the chance to choreograph a piece again and AVA gave me the opportunity to bring my vision to life. Thank you SO much for the opportunity. My heart is beaming.
Emma Z., Series 2
Showcase was an amazing opportunity to get back on stage and meet other dancers in the area. AVA is such a special community and to have 90 dancers come together and perform is an incredible experience. I can’t wait until next year!
Elly R., Series 1
As a first time dancer, I was nervous to sign up for a performance. I grew such a love and appreciation for dancing through this process. I loved making friends (the bonding events were so great!) and I loved my coaches. I couldn't be more grateful and happy for this opportunity. It was the perfect balance between accessible and challenging, with opportunities for everyone to shine. I can't say enough good things.
Hadar B., Series 3
The AVA showcase is one of my favorite times of the year. Performing has always been a passion of mine and having the ability to do it as an adult working a full time corporate job has been truly amazing. I love AVA and I’m so grateful for the community and joy that it brings me.
Justine M., Series 2
I have been looking for more community and for a way to dance since moving to DC a few years ago, and I am so happy I found AVA. The Showcase was exactly what I was looking for, and I'm so grateful for the chance to dance again, make new friends and join this incredible community.
Issa S., Series 1
As an adult recently returning to the dance world, the Performance Showcase was such an amazing opportunity to be back on stage! It was very inspiring to connect with so many dancers and share our passion together. Truly an unforgettable experience.
Kim N., Series 5
2026 marked my fourth year with the AVA showcase, and it remains a highlight of my year. Showcase is such a fantastic space to put our hearts into the creative spirit of a performance alongside such a supportive group of dancers. The instructors bring such a positive energy to every rehearsal -- they create such beautiful pieces while making sure the choreography really showcases every dancer, regardless of background. Every showcase further builds my connection to this community, and it’s the best feeling to keep that energy going when I see everyone back in class!
Courtney R., Series 4
I had an incredible experience. The Showcase helped me improve my fitness level and introduced me to new friends. I looked forward to rehearsals every week. I can't wait to be part of it again next year!
