What to Expect in Rachel's Classes

We are proud to provide top-tier dance instruction to adults in a welcoming & safe environment at AVA! In addition to their choreography, we are excited to highlight some of our incredible instructors that you get to take classes from every month on a more personal level.

Rachel teaches Contemporary and Technique at AVA and has been part of our dance community since the fall of 2024!

In Rachel's classes, you can expect a safe and encouraging space where you're invited to let go and experiment with your movement. We focus on learning choreography, but musicality, performance and confidence are just as important! She breaks movement down clearly, repeats instruction often and challenges dancers in an intentional way so that you leave the studio feeling accomplished.

What makes Rachel's teaching different is that she focuses on emotional connection and encouraging dancers to discover their own style within the choreography. She wants dancers to feel good in class and will always be their biggest fan! Dancing is vulnerable and everyone deserves a hype person!

She is a seasoned dance educator and choreographer with over 20 years of dance experience. With a strong foundation in competitive dance, she specializes in jazz technique, tap, lyrical, and contemporary styles. Rachel has coached and choreographed for competitive teams, creating award-winning routines that showcase her dancers' strengths. Her passion lies in helping dancers push beyond their limits while maintaining their love for the art. With a blend of technical precision and expressive artistry, Rachel believes dance is a powerful outlet for the soul, meant to evoke deep emotions and connect us to our innermost selves.
