Dancin’ in the Rain: Washington Spirit Halftime Recap
The rain made our 2026 NWSL (National Women's Soccer League) performance that much more memorable!
On September 26, we got the full game-day experience: performing under the lights (in the elements) during halftime at the Washington Spirit's match. It was a night filled with excitement and energy, and we loved every moment of it!
In an AVA first, we teamed up with the organization's official entertainment squad, the Spirit Crew, to create a dynamic field piece! This high-energy routine was choreographed by our Founder/Director, Leah Mariner, alongside Spirit Crew Director (and AVA instructor), Nadeen Rollins. The collaboration brought together the best of both worlds, featuring collaborative moments that showcased the talent of both groups, along with highlighted sections that allowed AVA and the Spirit Crew to shine individually.
We're so proud of this group for pulling together this impressive performance in just four rehearsals! The routine was packed with lifts, acrobatics, pro-style choreography, and a sprinkle of technique, all coming together in an ambitious piece that lasted nearly four minutes. It was a true testament to the dancers' talent, dedication and passion!
